Ramgarh is also called by the name ‘Fruit Bowl of Kumaon’ as it is blessed with Apple, apricot, pear and peach orchards all over. The town of Ramgarh is divided into two parts namely, ‘Talla’ and ‘Malla’ Talla is the lower part of the destination while ‘Malla’ is the one located higher up in the mountains. The majestic views that Ramgarh offers of tall and proud Himalayan peaks is truly stunning, and has resulted in it becoming the preferred destination for many tourists.

A small hill station in the state of Uttarakhand, Ramgarh is a blessed place located in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas. Ramgarh is also called by the name ‘Fruit Bowl of Kumaon’ as it is blessed with Apple, apricot, pear and peach orchards all over. The town of Ramgarh is divided into two parts namely, ‘Talla’ and ‘Malla’ Talla is the lower part of the destination while ‘Malla’ is the one located higher up in the mountains. This hill station once served as a British army cantonment. The colonial engineering can be seen in the Ramgarh bungalows. These bungalows, now heritage properties of the famous Old Bungalow of the 1830’s, Vista Villa and The Writers’ Bungalow (1860). The interiors of these bungalows still preserve the old world charm.

The house of one of the luminaries of hindi literature, Mahadevi Varma, Ramgarh village in Nainital district has been transformed into a national museum by the Government of Uttaranchal. This initiative has been taken to reserve the memory of the great writer and freedom fighter.
